Stephen has been interested in Interior Design all his life. His first Design job was self appointed at the age of 6, when his parents returned home from dining at a restaurant to find the living room rearranged. Stephen said "this floor plan was just not working for the room, so I changed it." The rest is Design history. Stephen studied Fashion Merchandising in college and attained a degree in Interior Design as well. He found himself taking design short course classes in Atlanta, where he discovered the Georgia Peach was not his forte.

When we asked Stephen where the hottest design trends come from, he says California is the undisputed winner. He adds that the Central Coast is the melting pot of the Design Industry. It is one of the only places on the map to combine Traditional, Contemporary, Italian, Spanish, Country, Neo-classic, and Funky Trailor into one eclectic look.

Although Stephen is well rounded in all design styles, his personal favorite is, by far, the Neo Classic look. Only here can we combine light and dark colours, smooth and rough textured fabrics, and surfaces as cool as glass and as warm as wood. When asked why Stephen feels his design company is so successful, he replied, "It is because we design in the clients style, not our own personal favorite style". He says, "The goal is to create a beautiful look that the client will be comfortable living in, and doing this within a budget they can afford". Stephen also contributes his success to his educated and talented staff that he works closely with at Atmospheres. Each staff member brings their own special design background to the team. After receiving several city and industry design awards given to atomospheres for outstanding design, Stephen says the future looks bright.
